Job qualifications

Professional recognition

To gain access to a regulated profession, you must acquire the qualification established by law. This qualification consists, for example, of passing a state examination, a university degree or enrolment in a professional register.

The regulation of professions in the EU is not homogeneous, so it can happen that a profession is regulated in one country and not in another. The database below provides an overview of regulated professions in the EU.

In Italy, access to regulated professions is dependent on passing a state examination.

Any foreign study and professional training courses that enable the practice of a regulated profession are recognised by the competent Ministries in accordance with EU regulations. This procedure applies to all regulated professions, i.e. those that require registration in a register or directory.
