ÖBB Vorteilscard and SüdtirolPass abo+

Not all, but many roads lead you to your place of study. Many students studying in Austria take the train. For the route to the Brenner Pass, you can use the abo+ in South Tyrol. It can be used on regional trains and has an annual price of 10 euros. In Austria it is advisable to buy the Vorteilscard of the Austrian ÖBB railways, which is valid for one year. It costs 19 euros (until 26 years - Vorteilscard Jugend) or 99 euros (after 26 years - Vorteilscard Classic) and reduces the ticket price in Austria by 50%.

It is also possible to combine the Vorteilscard and the Südtirol abo+ for the route from Brenner to Innsbruck. This avoids "running" to validate the abo+ at the Brenner Pass.

Activation works like this:

  • Go to the site www.sii.bz.it > Online Services > activate your account

  • On your account go to "Pacchetti extra > Acquisto" and register your Vorteilscard for free.

Summer abo+

Students who are in South Tyrol only during summer-time can buy the Summer abo+. It is valid in the months of June, July, August and September.
